Linda Swanson, ADHD Coach

Linda Swanson, ADHD Coach Linda Swanson is a sympathetic and caring life coach with a specialty in Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Linda offers her clients a unique opportunity to pause and step back from the busy-ness of life. Linda’s goal is that her sessions be a calm, nonjudgmental oasis in which her clients feel free to share their ambitions and dreams, as well as their pains and challenges. With her support, Linda’s clients explore and experiment with new ways to deal with seeming limitations and build on their strengths and talents to move toward short- and long-term goals.

Linda’s calm presence and insightful-listening skills allow her to support, challenge and encourage her clients. She loves watching each of her clients discover their uniqueness as the coaching relationship progresses. Linda recognizes that individuals with ADHD often struggle with time-blindness, poor working memory, inattention, disorganization and impulsivity. She works with her clients to create strategies based on their processing modalities, their unique abilities and talents and what has worked for them in similar situations in the past. At the same time, she helps them identify and build on their clear but sometimes unacknowledged strengths, such as creativity, enthusiasm, spontaneity, sensitivity, and persistence.

Over the years Linda has contributed to the community as a hospice volunteer, as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer, as a school volunteer coordinator and Parent-Teacher Association officer. She has co-led a summer program for the Boys’ and Girls’ Club, worked for environmental and political causes, and founded a civic group in Fauquier County.

In addition to having earned a BA and two Master’s degrees, Linda is a graduate of the advanced training program of the ADD Coach Academy, the first and only comprehensive ADHD coach training program fully accredited by the International Coach Federation. Linda has earned the Associate Certified Coach credential from the International Coach Federation (ICF) and has been certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid. She is a professional member of the ICF, the ADHD Coaches Organization (ACO), the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA), and Children and Adults with ADHD (CHADD).
